Eight nominations filed for Zila Parishad elections on second day
CHANDIGARH: On the second day to file nomination papers for 22 Zila Parishad and 150 Panchayat Samiti of Punjab, 8 nominations for Zila Parishads and 248 nomination papers for Panchayat Samitis have been filed.

CHANDIGARH: On the second day to file nomination papers for 22 Zila Parishad and 150 Panchayat Samiti of Punjab, 8 nominations for Zila Parishads and 248 nomination papers for Panchayat Samitis have been filed.
According to spokesman of the State Election Commissioner, Punjab, the nomination papers can be submitted till 7th September 2018. He said that the Shiromani Akali Dal has filed a complaint to the Commission that BDPOs are not present in their offices and their candidates having a problem to get an No Objection Certificates. Commission has sought report from the deputy commissioners of the state.
Apart from this the State Election Commissioner has asked the concerned officials to remain present in their office.
