CHANDIGARH: Witnessing Punjab's progress and development, the voters have shown confidence in the Congress party and a large number of party candidates have won the civic elections in Punjab. It was stated by Senior Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu after a landslide victory in the Mohali Municipal Corporation elections.
Mr. Balbir Sidhu said that out of 50 seats, candidates of the Congress Party have won 38 seats in Mohali Municipal election while voters clearly rejected the Aam Aadmi Party, Akali Dal and BJP. These parties have even failed to open their accounts. He said that the recent results in Punjab had proved that the voters had expressed faith in the Congress party candidates in civic elections in view of the comprehensive development work.
Expressing gratitude towards the voters of Mohali, the Health Minister said that the Punjab Government has taken prompt actions for the development of Mohali city and he assured that the development work would be continued on a war footing.
He said that Civic amenities and health services have timely been extended to the people especially during the lockdown and it has increased the faith of people in our government.
Mr. Sidhu said that this victory also proved that the people of the state had chosen the Congress party candidates believing in the steps and initiatives taken by the Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh. He said that this victory also manifested that the Congress party would win a landslide victory in the forthcoming Assembly elections in 2022.
He further said that the demand of the farmer unions to repeal agriculture laws is not being taken seriously by the Modi government and the Akali Dal party had firmly supported these laws before breaking the alliance with NDA. For which the people of Punjab had wiped out these parties.
