SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami strongly condemned the incident of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji at Bhagwanpur village of Bhulath

AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly condemned the incident of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji at Bhagwanpur village of Bhulath under Kapurthala district and said that the continuous occurrence of desecration incidents in Punjab is a big issue. It is a matter of concern.

He said that the government is not taking such cases seriously, due to which the morale of the accused is increasing.
He said that as soon as this incident was known, the SGPC reached the spot and sent Gurdwara Bauli Sahib Nadala, Gurdwara Thammhji Sahib Kartarpur manager and Pracharak to the spot, from whom an investigation report of the incident has been requested.

He said that it is the responsibility of the police administration to investigate this unfortunate incident seriously and look for the conspirators behind it.

He said that if any kind of laxity is used, then the government will be responsible for the protest and anger of the people. SGPC chief said that today's incident has once again shocked the Sikhs as well as every serious person.

Advocate Dhami also appealed to the Sangat to make proper arrangements for surveillance and security through CCTV cameras inside the Gurdwaras and to keep the attendants present in the Gurdwaras at all times for guarding.
