Deputy Speaker Rouri Resolves Public Grievances on the Spot During Public Meeting
CHANDIGARH: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker S. Jai Krishan Singh Rouri held a public meeting at Sher-e-Punjab Marriage Palace in Village Padrana under the Garhshankar Assembly Constituency. A large number of residents from various villages participated in the meeting and brought their grievances, demands, and development-related issues to the Deputy Speaker's attention.
During the interaction, Deputy Speaker S. Rouri listened sympathetically to every complaint and demand. He immediately issued necessary directions to the concerned officials present at the venue and stated that people should not be compelled to make repeated visits to government offices for the resolution of their issues.
The Deputy Speaker said that under the “Sarkar Tuhade Dwaar” campaign launched by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to resolving citizens’ problems at their doorsteps. He added that the objective of such public meetings is to bridge the gap between the public and the administration and to provide prompt relief to citizens.

He further stated that the Punjab Government is making every possible effort to ensure that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach every section of society and that no eligible person is deprived of government services.
Mr. Rouri instructed officials to establish a fixed timeline for resolving public grievances and to give priority to pending cases. He emphasized that addressing people’s problems is a shared
responsibility of both elected representatives and the administration.
On the occasion, Deputy Speaker Rouri said that several important development projects were underway in the Garhshankar Assembly Constituency and that development work would be further accelerated in the coming period. He stated that the trust reposed in him by the people is his greatest strength and that he remains committed to serving the residents of the constituency.
At the conclusion of the programme, local residents thanked Mr. Rouri and said that such public meetings provide ordinary citizens with an opportunity to directly communicate their concerns to the administration and elected representatives, thereby making the grievance-redressal process more effective.
