CHANDIGARH: Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia today said chief minister Bhagwant Mann had committed a self goal by changing his version on the video in which he was seen committing a heinous sacrilege against the Guru Sahiban and Sri Guru Granth Sahib as well as making objectionable gestures against Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala for the third time.
Asserting that the chief minister was making repeated somersaults and speaking hundred lies to defend one lie, the SAD leader said “now another theory is being propounded with the chief minister claiming that the figure in the video which is of his likeness is actually wearing a mask”. He said now a questionable page of Bhagwant Mann’s old associate Jagman Samra was being publicized to create a new conspiracy theory.
Asking Bhagwant Mann not to concoct new stories at every new press conference, Mr Bikram Majithia said instead of submitting to Sri Akal Takht Sahib and seeking forgiveness for his sins, the chief minister was trying to refute the findings of the supreme seat of the Sikh community. He also accused the chief minister of speaking one lie after another. “First Mann said the video was a product of artificial intelligence. When the reports of Sri Akal Takht disproved this, the chief minister said the person in the video was not him. Now he is claiming that the person in the video is wearing a mask of his likeness”. He said this was not all. “While earlier the chief minister said the person in the video was one inch taller than him, today he claimed the person was two inches taller than him”.
Mr Majithia said instead of resorting to all these lies, the chief minister should have simply sent the video to CFSL, Chandigarh or any other government approved laboratory for examination. He said instead of doing this, the chief minister gave the responsibility of procuring fake forensic reports to two senior police officers from purported laboratories which existed on paper only. He demanded action against both the police officers – Jashandep Singh Gill and Swapan Sharma saying once a case was registered against them the entire conspiracy to refute the findings of Sri Akal Takht Sahib would be exposed. “The father in law of Jashandeep Gill is a senior functionary of AAP indicating that the officer was deputed on a hatchet job”. He said an impartial probe into the case would also lead to the money trail in the case and fix responsibility on the Aam Aadmi Party leadership.
The SAD leader also demanded that AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal break his silence and clear his position in the case. He also demanded the AAP cabinet ministers who had owned the report should also clarify their stand once it was proven to be fake. He also demanded a separate probe into attempts to vitiate the communal atmosphere in the state by AAP at the behest of Pakistan’s ISI agency.
