Jewellery, pistol stolen from house of NRI in Mohali
MOHALI: The thieves broke into the locked house of a NRI in sector 69 here on March 17 and escaped with jewellery worth lakhs, a pistol and ammunition.
MOHALI: The thieves broke into the locked house of a NRI in sector 69 here on March 17 and escaped with jewellery worth lakhs, a pistol and ammunition.
The owner of the house Nirabhjit Singh is Canada based NRI and the house has been locked for the last many years. His brother Harpreet Singh detected the theft on March 31 when he visited the locked house. He informed the police the locks at ground floor were broken and house was ransacked by robbers. A 380 bore pistol, 25 cartridges besides gold and silver jewellery including a necklace, chain and ring are stolen.
CCTV footage shows a man breaking the lock of the house on March 17. Police has registered a case in sector 8 police station under sections 380 and 454 of IPC.
