Industry delegation meets Governor, demands factory outlets to promote 'Vocal for Local

On Wednesday a delegation of Laghu Udyog Bharti, Punjab and Chandigarh paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Punjab and Administrator,  Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria and expressed their gratitude to him for his efforts in the development of industries and in the interest of entrepreneurs.

Industry delegation meets Governor, demands factory outlets to promote 'Vocal for Local
CHANDIGARH: On Wednesday a delegation of Laghu Udyog Bharti, Punjab and Chandigarh paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria and expressed their gratitude to him for his efforts in the development of industries and in the interest of entrepreneurs.
The delegation included President of Laghu Udyog Bharti Punjab, Mr. Pradeep Mongia, President of Laghu Udyog Bharti Chandigarh, Mr. Avi Bhasin, Mr. Manish Nigam, Mr. Anil Sharma and Mr. Suresh Gupta.
During the meeting, Mr. Pradeep Mongia discussed various issues related to the industries of Punjab and requested the Governor to allocate land for Kaushal Vikas Kendra for the purpose of skill development and providing employment oriented training to the youth. Mr. Avi Bhasin honored the Governor by presenting him a shawl and discussed important issues related to Chandigarh's industrial sector. He expressed special thanks to the Governor for his efforts to promote industry, stating that for the first time since 2019, an atmosphere of hope and confidence has emerged among Chandigarh's entrepreneurs. The industry is confident that under the Governor's leadership, long-pending issues concerning industrial interests will be resolved positively.
He requested that manufacturing units operating in the industrial area should be allowed to set up factory outlets for display and sale of the products manufactured by them, which will promote local products and strengthen the “Vocal for Local”, “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also requested to allow services like automobile service centre, repairing, spare parts and accessories fitting in the industrial area as there is no separate place designated for these activities in the city.
Apart from this, it was also requested to allow activities supporting the operation of industries like hardware stores, MS Steel and sheet traders, sellers of industrial raw materials and other industry supporting business establishments to operate in the industrial area, so that the necessary materials and services can be made available to the industries at one place.
The Governor listened seriously to the issues raised by the delegation and assured to adopt a positive approach to promote industrial development and employment generation. The delegation expressed confidence that effective steps will be taken under the guidance of the Honourable Governor for the development of industries in Chandigarh and Punjab.
