SGPC claims, Sikh Reference Library material not received by them
AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee claimed that they have not received material of Sikh Reference Library from union government which was taken by the Army during operation Blur Star in June 1984.

Dr. Roop Singh chief secretary SGPC talking to media person after the meeting which was held at Teja Singh Samundri hall within Golden Temple complex said that in a separate section of press that union government has returned the Literature to SGPC.
He said, Dr. Anurag Singh provided information that 205 handwritten holy books (Guru Granth Sahib Bir), 807 religious books, 1 hukamnama returned to SGPC.
He also added that before 1984 operation blue star library includes 512 Guru Granth Sahib (Bir), 12613 historic Books and large number of newspapers. If Dr. Anurag's information analyse nevertheless Literature would not complete.
He further said, SGPC have sent number of communication letters to union government but they don't yet received any response.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting including Former jathedaar Akal Takhat Giani Joginder Singh vedanta, Former Secretary Manjit Singh, Dalmegh Singh, kulwant Singh and Joginder Singh Adliwal.
SGPC would constitute committee to investigate sale of holy literature
Meanwhile, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee has decided to constitute a committee to investigate the sale of handwritten Guru Granth Sahib (Birs).
Committee includes trusty members, handwritten and legal experts and SGPC senior officials. Committee would also focus to investigate sale of Birs in foreign countries.
If anyone would found guilty SGPC would take strict action against guilty person. Dr. Roop Singh said, Sikh Reference Library reconstruct by SGPC. At present 24999 books, 566 handwritten birs of Guru Granth Sahib and 1398 handwritten pothis are available.
