ROPAR:The scrutiny of nomination papers for Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha seat was today adjourned till May 2, 2019 by the returning officer following a High Court notice of motion to ECI and others on the petition of AAP candidate Narinder Singh Shergill.

Scrutiny of nomination papers for Anandpur Sahib seat adjourned till May 2

ROPAR:The scrutiny of nomination papers for Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha seat was today adjourned till May 2, 2019 by the returning officer following a High Court notice of motion to ECI and others on the petition of AAP candidate Narinder Singh Shergill.

Dr. Sumit Jarangal The Returning officer had found discrepancies in the nomination papers of Shergill. The candidature of AAP candidate was disqualified by the Election Commission of India for not submitting his accounts of previous election of Mohali assembly contested by him in 2017.

Soon after scrutiny of nomination papers started today morning, the returning officer pointed out the discrepancy. Shergill immediately approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court claiming that he had already submitted his accounts. The High Court has issued notice to ECI and fixed next date of hearing on May 2.

The returning officer said that scruitiny is adkouned till 11 AM on May 2 aftr which withdrawals will start.
