Red Cross Society Amritsar Honoured by Delhi GST Professionals Group
AMRITSAR: The Red Cross Society, Amritsar, was specially honoured by the Delhi GST Professionals Group in recognition of its outstanding services in the fields of humanitarian assistance and social welfare. The felicitation ceremony was held at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, under the chairmanship of Member of Parliament Shri Praveen Khandelwal.
Providing details in this regard, Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar, Shri Dalwinderjit Singh, stated that during the floods that affected the Ajnala, Lopoke, Ramdas and Baba Bakala Sahib areas of Amritsar district last year, the Red Cross Society Amritsar and the Delhi GST Professionals Group jointly played a significant role in relief and rehabilitation efforts. Under the leadership of the district administration, both organizations made valuable contributions by providing relief material to affected families, assisting those in need, and successfully carrying out rehabilitation activities.
During the event, speakers highlighted that the rehabilitation work in the flood-affected areas was successfully completed under the able leadership of Shri Dalwinderjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner-cum-President, Red Cross Society Amritsar. They further stated that the Delhi GST Professionals Group continues to actively collaborate with the Red Cross Society Amritsar in various humanitarian initiatives.
The role of Advocate Sushil Verma, President of the Delhi GST Professionals Group, along with Advocate Narendra Ahuja, Mrs. Rashmi Jain, Mrs. Rajmani Jindal, Advocate Varsha Jain, and Advocate Harish Chandra Bhatia, was highly appreciated for the successful organization of the event. Around 265 advocates and legal professionals from different parts of the country attended the seminar.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Praveen Khandelwal, Member of Parliament, highly appreciated the humanitarian services being rendered by the Red Cross Society. He said that institutions like the Red Cross play a crucial role in responding to natural disasters, emergencies, and social challenges. He appealed to people from all sections of society to come forward and support humanitarian causes and contribute towards helping the needy.
On this occasion, Advocate Sushil Verma, Advocate Harish Chandra Bhatia, Advocate Narendra Ahuja, and Mrs. Rashmi Jain also shared their views on social service and humanitarian welfare and encouraged people to participate in such noble initiatives.
During the ceremony, Shri Samson Masih, Secretary, Red Cross Society Amritsar, was specially honoured for his exceptional and commendable services towards humanity through the Red Cross. While accepting the honour, Shri Samson Masih thanked the Delhi GST Professionals Group and stated that the recognition was the result of the collective efforts of the entire Red Cross team and the district administration. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving humanity with the same dedication in the future.
