AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has received visas for 290 pilgrims for the jatha to be sent to Pakistan on the occasion of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's death anniversary.
This jatha will leave for Pakistan from the head office of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee on the morning of June 21.
Giving information in this regard, Secretary of the Dharam Prachar Committee Gurinder Singh Mathrewal said that along with participating in the function to be held at Gurdwara Sri Dera Sahib Lahore on the occasion of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's death anniversary, the passports of 302 pilgrims were sent for visas to visit other shrines in Pakistan, out of which 290 have received visas, while 12 pilgrims were not received visas from the Pakistan Embassy in Delhi.
He said that this jatha will return to India on June 30 after visiting various shrines and participating in the death anniversary celebrations of Maharaja Ranjit Singh on June 29.
He said that the pilgrims should collect their visa-adhered passports from the SGPC office on June 20 and 21.
He said that the serial numbers of the pilgrims who did not get visas are: 33, 66, 67, 68, 76, 131, 143, 144, 145, 151, 291 and 292.
