Phagwara Police busts inter-district gang of robbers, five arrested

PHAGWARA: The Phagwara Police have succeeded to bust an Inter-District Gang of Robbers and arrested its five members.

The Superintendent of the Police Phagwara Mukhtiar Rai while giving details told media here today that the arrested accused were identified as Rafiq Ahmed resident of Village Hardofarala,Rehmat Ali resident of Village Wadhala near Goraya,Manmeet Singh resident of Village Bharomazara,Murad Ali resident of Village Khatra near Khanna and Rajinder Kumar resident of Village Hardaspur near Phagwara.

Station House Officer (Sadar Police Phagwara) Usha Rani said the police have recovered one Snatched Tipper number PB-07CB-6363,One Tractor Trolley stolen from Law Gate and One Maruti Breeza Car and Hyundai Car(both used to commit different crimes) from the arrested accused.

DSP Jaspreet Singh said that the arrested accused have confessed their involvement in snatching Tipper from a driver on April 3.

SP Rai said that all arrested accused were produced before local judicial magistrate who sent them in police remand of four days for further interrogation. Several more disclosures are expected during interrogation, said SP Rai.
