Drug smuggler caught by Anti Narcotic Cell, 16 kg 650 grams of poppy Doda recovered

KAITHAL: On one hand, as per the orders of SP Upasana, the district police is making the general public aware about not taking drugs, on the other hand, the police is continuously tightening its grip on drug smugglers. Under this campaign, on Monday, a drug smuggler was arrested by the Anti Narcotic Cell from Dera Kadam Baupur along with 16 kg 650 grams of Doda Poppy.

Police spokesperson said that the team of ASI Manjeet Singh led by Anti Narcotic Cell in-charge SI Balraj Singh was present in Dera Kadam Baupur area during evening patrolling. Police got a secret information from the sources that Dera Kadam Baupur Sukhwinder Singh sells Doda poppy to the customers near his house. Police raided the house of Sukhwinder Singh and arrested the suspect. After police information, DSP Umed Singh reached the spot and during the search conducted as per rules, 16 kg 650 grams of poppy seeds were recovered from a plastic bag in the possession of the accused. A case was registered against the accused in police station Cheeka under NDPS and the accused was arrested by Harnauli police post in-charge ASI Rajesh Kumar who reached the spot. The accused will be produced in court on Tuesday, and is being interrogated by the police.
