Kidnapping and Abduction Case Registered in Nakodar

PHAGWARA: A case of kidnapping and abduction has been registered at Nakodar police station, district Jalandhar, involving allegations of luring a minor girl with the intent of marriage.
According to the FIR, Pawan Kumar, resident of village Alowal, near Nakodar has been accused by Jarnail Singh, resident of village Gandhra, near Nakodar. The complaint alleges that Pawan Kumar persuaded and enticed Jarnail Singh’s daughter with the intention of marrying her and took her away.
The case has been registered under Section 137(2) and Section 87 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). These provisions pertain to kidnapping, abduction, and inducement for marriage against the will of the guardian.
The FIR was lodged by Kulwinder Singh, Numberdar, under entry number 173/Jalandhar, and investigation has been initiated by the police.
This incident has raised concern in the local community, drawing attention to the vulnerability of minors and the need for strict enforcement of laws to prevent exploitation through coercion or deceit. Authorities have assured that the matter will be investigated thoroughly and justice delivered.
