Phagwara doctors observed complete Strike

PHAGWARA: On the call of the national unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) all the doctors of Phagwara today observed complete strike in anger over the murder of a young female doctor in Kolkata .OPD Services remained suspended whole day while only emergency cases were attended by the doctors. All Chemists of the City also supported the doctors’ strike today.

The Agitating Doctors led by I.M.A. Phagwara President Dr. Jasjit Singh Virk and secretary Dr. Tushar Aggarwal hold protest march in the city and submitted memorandums to Phagwara SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti afternoon.Dr S Mahindra,IMA Former State President Dr SPS Sooch,Dr Rajan,Dr Balbir Bhardwaj,Dr GB Singh,Dr Sanjeev Saroya and Dr Supreet Virk were among those who submitted memorandum to the officers concerned including Tehsildar an SP Phagwara. SP Bhatti assured the doctors for their safety.

Dr. Virk said the feeling of insecurity among doctors is not a good sign at all. The Reports of complete strike by the doctors were also received from Banga, Goraya, Phillaur, Nurmahal, Nakodar,Shahkot etc. The Protesting doctors submitted memorandums to the officers concerned at all places.
