AMRITSAR: Visas have been granted to 541 pilgrims for the Jatha to be sent by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to visit the Gurdwaras in Pakistan on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of the fifth Guru, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. This Jatha will leave from the Shiromani Committee office on June 10.
Giving information in this regard, Secretary of Dharam Prachar Committee Gurinder Singh Mathrewal said that the passports of 561 pilgrims were sent by the Shiromani Committee to the Pakistan Embassy in Delhi, out of which the embassy has issued visas to 541 pilgrims, while 20 pilgrims could not get visas.
He said that this Jatha will leave from the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee office on June 10 to participate in the events to be held in Pakistan on June 18 to commemorate the martyrdom of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. After visiting various shrines and participating in the events to be held on the martyrdom of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, they will return to the country on June 19.
Mathrewal said that pilgrims going to Pakistan who have visas should collect their passports from the SGPC office on June 9 during office hours.
He said that the serial numbers of the pilgrims who did not get visas are 82, 85, 86, 102, 125, 138, 182, 183, 240, 251, 293, 329, 330, 331, 352, 395, 438, 439, 440, 441.
