AMRITSAR: In compliance with the directions received from the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, a special Help Desk has been established at the District Administrative Complex, Amritsar at the district level keeping in view the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. This information was shared by Mr. Rupinderjit Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G)-cum-Additional District Election Officer, Amritsar.
Providing details in this regard, the Additional District Election Officer stated that the primary objective of this Help Desk is to facilitate easy access to election-related services during the SIR process and to ensure maximum participation of all eligible citizens, especially differently-abled persons, migrant voters and senior citizens in the electoral process. Through this Help Desk, several important services and facilities will be provided to voters. Citizens visiting the Help Desk will be given complete information regarding the SIR timeline, as well as the required documents for new voter registration, correction or deletion of votes. In addition, assistance will also be provided to voters in searching and linking records with the last final SIR electoral roll of the year 2003.
The Help Desk staff will also assist voters in filling and submitting the Enumeration Form through both online and offline modes. Special assistance will be provided to migrant voters in identifying their present and previous Assembly Constituencies so that their registration can be ensured at the correct location. Citizens will also be made aware of the Voter Helpline Number 1950 and the features of the all-inclusive mobile application (ECINet), especially the ‘Book a Call with BLO’ facility.
The Additional District Election Officer, Amritsar directed the staff deployed at the Help Desk to ensure strict compliance with the above instructions. He appealed to voters and the general public to make maximum use of the Help Desk facility in this important electoral exercise under SIR.
