Dhami expressed deep concern over the ongoing slow process of making votes for SGPC elections

AMRITSAR: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has expressed deep concern over the ongoing slow process of making votes for SGPC an organization that came into being with the sacrifices of our elders, tIn order to remain as a competent Sikh organization and to protect the comprehensive interests of Sikhs as a minority community in the country, every Sikh must cast his vote for Gurdwara elections.

Advocate Dhami said that the government's intention is to weaken the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in one way or another, so that the government process of making votes for the Shiromani Committee elections is not conducted properly and actively.

He said that earlier there was a mistake in the Sikh language in the Shiromani Committee voting form, which was corrected after the Sikh organizations filed a protest, but even now there are reports that in many places, Gurdwara elections are not allowed.

He clearly said that for the eligibility of a Shiromani Committee voter, it is mandatory to be a 'Sikh' who is a true follower of the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. If non-Sikh voter forms are filled for gurdwara elections, it is directly a covert government attempt to open the way for external interference in the religious affairs of Sikhs.
Advocate Dhami said that the last date for submission of Shiromani Committee vote-making forms is February 29, but the trend of making votes so far is disappointing.
