CHANDIGARH: Bhagwant Singh Mann was today unanimously elected leader of legislative Party of Aam Aadmi Party. All 92 newly elected MLAs of party attended the meeting held in Mohali.
Bhagwant Mann will take oath of office on March 16 at Kharkar Kalan, the native village of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Earlier in the day he visited Delhi to meet party supremo and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
Bhagwant Mann said that he has invited Arvind Kejriwal to come to Punjab on March 13 to pay obeisance at Golden Temple and Durgiana Temple Amritsar and for the oath taking ceremony on March 16. He also met Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia.
Mann while addressing party MLAs exhorted them to go back to people from whome they sought votes and work for them. He told them to share grief and joy of people. He said that MLAs must take officers to villages to resolve issues on the spot.
He said that there would be 17 ministers in his cabinet besides him. He said that all 92 MLAs have powers of cabinet ministers. He said that his government would treat every citizen equally and there would be no discrimination of any kind. No false police cases would be made against anybody.
Mann said that his government would emphasize on health, education, power and industry. He said that people have high expectations from them and we have to perform from day 1.
Raghav Chadha and Jarnail Singh were also present during the meeting.
