Accused arrested for vandalising martyr's statue in Balu village

KAITHAL: Acting on the orders of Superintendent of Police (SP) Manpreet Singh Sudan, the Kalayat Police Station and the Anti-Narcotics Cell have arrested the accused, Mithun, a resident of Balu village, in connection with the desecration of a martyr's statue in Balu village.
Investigating officer (PSI) Pankaj from Kalayat Police Station stated that, based on a complaint from Dinesh Kumar, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Balu, an unknown person damaged the statue of Martyr Karamchand, located near the Kisan Road bus stand, on the night of May 16/17, 2026, hurting the sentiments of villagers and military organizations. A case was registered at Kalayat Police Station based on the complaint.
The accused was taken to Balu village to identify the scene of the crime. The accused will be produced in court tomorrow and is currently being questioned
