PAU students showcase innovation at experimental learning programme exhibition
LUDHIANA: The College of Agriculture organized an impressive exhibition under the Experiential Learning Programme (ELP), where B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students displayed their innovative products, entrepreneurial skills, and practical agricultural knowledge.
The Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University, Dr. S.S. Gosal was the Chief Guest at the exhibition and appreciated the commendable efforts of the students in showcasing their creativity and scientific aptitude. Interacting with the gathering, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of experiential learning in modern agricultural education and encouraged students to adopt innovation and entrepreneurship as key drivers of agricultural development.
Dr. Charanjit Singh Aulakh, Dean, College of Agriculture, highlighted that the Experiential Learning Programme is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, enabling students to develop confidence, leadership qualities, and professional competence.
The Dean, College of Horticulture & Forestry Dr R I S Gill, and the Dean, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities Dr Kiran Bains also visited the exhibition and appreciated the innovative ideas and practical skills displayed by the students. The dignitaries visited different stalls and interacted with the students, appreciating their hard work, innovative ideas, and presentation skills.
Various stalls featuring value-added food products, organic produce, mushroom products, nursery plants, bakery items, bio-fertilizers, and other agro-based innovations attracted faculty members, students, and visitors alike. The event provided students with a valuable platform to demonstrate practical skills acquired through hands-on training under the Experiential Learning Programme.
ELP coordinators Dr. Jaspal Singh and Dr. Pankaj Kumar, who were instrumental in organizing the event, said that the students confidently explained the preparation techniques, economic viability, and marketing strategies of their products, reflecting their understanding of agribusiness and farm entrepreneurship. Faculty members and visitors appreciated the students’ dedication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
During the exhibition, the ELP unit of Microbiology secured the first position, while Commercial Apiculture won the second position. The ELP unit of Plant Breeding along with Food Science and Technology secured the third position for their outstanding exhibits and presentations.
The exhibition concluded successfully with the Vice-Chancellor congratulating the winning teams, participating students, faculty members, and organizing committee for making the event informative, innovative, and inspiring.
