FARIDAKOT: Three schoolgirls have gone missing for a government school in Faridakot since February 12. The girls are native of Nepal. Two of them live in government quarters in Faridakot as their parents work as cooks. The parents of third girl stay in a locality near the Police Lines.

Three girls missing from Faridakot school

FARIDAKOT: Three schoolgirls have gone missing for a government school in Faridakot since February 12. The girls are native of Nepal. Two of them live in government quarters in Faridakot as their parents work as cooks. The parents of third girl stay in a locality near the Police Lines.

As per the complaint with the police, two of the girls, 12 and 13 years of age, had reportedly left their homes on February 12, saying they were going to the school. The girls neither reached their school, nor returned home by late evening.

Later on, it came to the fore that these girls had met another girl (17) outside the school. The third girl also belonged to Nepal.
The family members of the missing girl feared tha the girls were kidnapped. The police have registered a criminal case under Section 346 of the IPC (wrongful confinement) against unknown perons.

Harjeet Singh, SSP, Faridakot, said the police had taken a cognizance of the complaint and started a search operation.
