Mohammed Furqan Khan appointed as director North Zone Cultural Center

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Shri Banwarilal Purohit today appointed Mr. Mohammed Furqan Khan as a Director of North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala.

Handing over the appointment letter Shri Purohit who is also the Chairman of NZCC asked Furqan Khan to “make sincere and committed efforts to upgrade and enrich consciousness of the people about their cultural heritage”.

He asked him to frame programmes that would encourage and involve Youth of the Zone among themselves and with the youth of the rest of the country through creative cultural communications on the matters relating to cultural heritage of India. He also asked him to work towards preserving, promoting and projecting the arts of the Zone.

Pertinently, this appointment will be on short term basis for a period of three years.

The North Zone cultural Center is one of the eight cultural centers established in the country to strengthen the ancient roots of Indian Culture and evolve and enrich composite National Culture. The center comprises regions from Jammu & Kashmir, (Union Territory) Ladakh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, (Union Territory) Chandigarh, Uttrakhand, Haryana and Rajasthan.
