MOHALI: Four students of the University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (USPS) of the Rayat Bahra University got best oral and best poster presentations awards at the first national capacity building training workshop and Faculty Development Programme on `Manufacturing Of Tablet: Process, Quality Control and Documentation’ organized by the School of Pharmacy Career Point University, Hamirpur.
Sweta Kumari from M. Pharm Pharmacology presented a poster entitled “Pleiotropic Protective Potential of Curcumin: An Overview” and Diksha Verma of M. Pharm Pharmacology presented a poster entitled “Effects of Herbal Drugs: An Overview” and these were adjudged Best Poster Presentations.
Priya Jaswal, M Pharm 2018-2020, gave an oral presentation on “Nephroprotective Potential of Green Tea Extract and Hesperidin in Heat Stress Induced Experimental Nephropathy” and Nihal from M. Pharm first semester, gave oral presentation on “Pathophysiology of Ischemia/Reperfusion Induced Myocardial Injury”. Both the presentations got them Best Oral Presentation awards.
Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Vice-President of the Rayat Bahra Group Sahila Bahra, Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh, Registrar Dr BS Satyal, and Prof Neena Mehta congratulated the students for their achievement.
Dr Gurfateh Singh, Head, of the USPS, extended warm wishes to the students. He said that these students had brought laurels to the Rayat Bahra University and made the university proud.
He said the workshop provided a good opportunity to the students and scholars, medical practitioners, researchers, teachers and scientists directly or indirectly involved in the pharmaceutical profession to exchange ideas and gain professional experience. The workshop gave a deep insight to the participants on manufacturing of tablets.
