10 GNDU students offered jobs

AMRITSAR: Directorate of Placement & Career Enhancement of Guru Nanak Dev University organized Campus Placement drive by LEA Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd. for Post Graduate students of Guru Ram Dass School of Planning of the University. 10 students have been selected for the positions of Urban Planner and Transport Planner at a salary package ranging between 8.26 Lakhs per annum to 6.82 Lakhs per annum. Out of these 10 students, 6 students have been offered a package of Rs. 6.82 Lakhs per annum (LPA), 2 have got Rs. 7.97 LPA, 1 has got Rs. 7.40 LPA and another 1 has got Rs. 8.26 LPA.

Dr. Ashwani Luthra, Professor & Head, Guru Ram Dass School of Planning said that their department is one of the premier institutions in North-West India to impart education and training in the field of Urban, Regional, Infrastructure, and Transport Planning. All its programmes are highly recognized in the public as well as private sector organizations. As many as 35 of its graduates have worked on the post of Chief Town Planner of Government of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, to name a few. Many of its graduates have been working on senior positions in India and abroad.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu congratulated the students and faculty members for selection of the students in various companies. Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh and Registrar Dr. K.S. Kahlon also congratulated the students for this great success. Dr. Amit Chopra, Director said that students of various faculties of GNDU are regularly getting job offers from multinational and national companies through campus placements.
