PSPCL to take 3200 outsourced workers on direct contract
PATIALA: Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. (PSPCL) has decided to take around 3200 outsourced thermal workers on direct annual contract as per Punjab government policy decision for hiring of outsourced workers on direct contract by various departments and entities. The contract workers at Lehra Mohabbat thermal are around 1800 and while at Ropar thermal plant their number is around 1400.
The workers with prescribed years of experience with requisite qualification will be taken on direct contract subject to fulfilling conditions. The workers with lesser experience shall also be considered once they complete mandatory experience. The unqualified workers will be given 10 days in-house training and basic technical knowledge test will be taken by PSPCL and clear the examination.
The contract workers after the issuance of a circular has ended their strike and returned for work.
