Meanwhile, Hemant Kumar an advocate and election analyst in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, said that on January 22, 2024 this year, when the voter lists were updated and finalized in all the 90 assembly constituencies of Haryana on the basis of the eligibility date of January 1, 2024, there were a total of 1,98,34,602 voters in Haryana. The total number of voters in the state was 1, 96,58,234 voters in January 2023, a year and a quarter ago. Thus, while in the last one year, 1,76,368 voters increased in the entire state, in the last four months thus 3,53,309 voters have increased in the entire state.
Two weeks ago, Hemant had written to the Election Commission of India, CEO, Haryana and the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of all the 22 districts of the state, who are also the DEOs (District Election Officers) of their respective districts, to make public the complete and latest number of registered voters (i.e. male, female, transgender, Divyang, overseas (NRI) and service voters) in all the 10 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state till May 6, 2024, after which the above data of voters has been made public recently.
He further said that in the last four months, except Narayangarh Assembly Constituency falling under Ambala Lok Sabha seat and Chief Minister Naib Saini's home constituency, the voter number has increased to some extent in all the remaining 89 assembly constituencies of the state and the maximum number of voters, 34,315 has increased in Badshahpur Assembly Constituency falling under Gurgaon Lok Sabha seat.
Similarly, in the vacant Karnal city assembly seat falling under Karnal Lok Sabha, where voting is scheduled for the by-election on May 25, in which the Chief Minister of the state Naib Saini is in the electoral fray as a BJP candidate, that seat too has seen an increase of 6,562 voters in the last four months.
On the other hand, in the Chief Minister's home constituency Narayangarh Assembly constituency (Nayab Saini is originally from Mirzapur village there), as per the official figures released in January 2024, the total number of voters was 1,92,887, which has become 1,92,168 as per the latest figures released on May 6, 2024. Thus a decrease of 719 voters here in the last four months.
