MLA Says AAP Government Was Complicit in Engineering a NEET-Like Paper Leak in Punjab
JALANDHAR: Former Education Minister and MLA Pargat Singh launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Central Government and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government in Punjab, alleging that both have completely failed to ensure accountability in cases of paper leaks and recruitment scams. He said that whether it is the BJP at the Centre or AAP in Punjab, both governments had promised transparent recruitment systems but have instead left the future of millions of young people across the country and in Punjab at the mercy of paper leak mafias and a corrupt system. He alleged that the AAP government itself, through collusion, orchestrated a NEET-like paper leak in Punjab.
Pargat Singh said that the alleged paper leak and cheating scandal in the recruitment examination for 454 Pharmacist posts in Punjab is extremely serious. Allegations suggest that jammers were removed from examination centres, large sums of money were taken to facilitate cheating, and the entire racket operated under protection. Such a large-scale conspiracy, he said, could not have taken place without the knowledge or patronage of the government. He further alleged that the AAP government itself colluded in carrying out a NEET-like paper leak in Punjab.
He said that AAP leaders had once boasted in Delhi that if a paper leak occurred in Punjab, they would seek the resignation of the Education Minister. "Now that a major recruitment scam has surfaced in Punjab, why are Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann silent?" he asked. He demanded that they reveal who the real masterminds behind the scam are and what action has been taken against them so far. He said that when the future of the youth is being jeopardized—or even sold—through paper leaks, the silence of those in power raises serious questions.
The former Education Minister said that while the BJP and AAP may pursue different political agendas in different states, their approach is the same when it comes to compromising the future of young people. At the Centre, he alleged, there have been attempts to evade accountability in the NEET paper leak case, while in Punjab efforts are being made to cover up the recruitment scam. Instead of fixing responsibility on ministers and those connected with the government, both administrations are, according to him, limiting the matter to junior officials or symbolic action.
He demanded a fair, impartial, and time-bound investigation into both the NEET paper leak and the Punjab Pharmacist Recruitment Examination scam, along with the strictest possible punishment for those found guilty. He said that the Congress Party will not allow any compromise with the future of the youth of India and Punjab and will continue to raise its voice until the guilty are brought to justice.
