Akal Takht Jathedar summons Kultar Singh Sandhwan, speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha on May 8

AMRITSAR: Giani Kuldeep Singh Garganj. Acting Jathedar Akal Takht highest seat of Sikh religion has summoned Kultar Singh Sandhwan speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha at Akal Takht on May 8 at 11 A.M.
The Jathedar has called Sandhwan to appear on May 8, questioning why the supremacy of the Akal Takht Sahib was allegedly overlooked during the formulation of the new anti-sacrilege law introduced by the Punjab government.
Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, has issued his first official response after being summoned to Sri Akal Takht Sahib on May 8 .
Speaking to media, Sandhwan acknowledged the supremacy of the Akal Takht Sahib and said he would present himself there “as a humble Sikh.” He emphasised that the Akal Takht Sahib is the highest temporal authority of the Sikh community and holds immense significance globally.
Sandhwan stated that whenever a call is received from the Akal Takht Sahib, he considers it his duty to appear. However, he added that he has not yet received any formal written communication regarding the summons.
