Two miscreants arrested for snatching mobile phone from woman

PHAGWARA: The Lohian Khas police have arrested two miscreants on the charge of snatching a mobile phone from a woman.

Investigating officer (IO) Sukhdev Singh said that the accused have been identified as Gurjant Singh alias Bagga resident of Jamsher village and Jaspreet Singh alias Jassu son of Malkit Singh a resident of Rai Wal village in Lohian.

Kiran daughter of Surinder Pal a resident of Mohalla Dhomana ward no 4, Lohian Khas complained to the police that she was returning home after work on May 22 evening when two motorcycle-borne accused snatched her phone She raised an alarm and local residents chased the accused nabbed them and handed them over to the police.

IO said a case under sections 379-B (snatching) 411(dishonestly receiving stolen property ) and 34 (committing crime with common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
