Punjab Government should give 2.5 crores to the players
AMRITSAR: MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla welcomed the National Hockey Team, which returned after winning the Bronze Medal in the Olympics, at Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport today and said that these players have brought pride to Punjab and the country with great enthusiasm. One crore is a small amount for them. While giving a gift to the hockey players, he said that when the first grant comes, he will get the Astro Turf repaired at Sri Guru Nanak Dev University at the cost of 25 lakhs and one turf will be made every year so that the players can play with full dedication.

On the announcement of one crore for the players, he said that last time in the Captain Amarinder Singh government also, one crore was announced for the winning team, but then MP Aujla himself insisted and got it increased to 2 crore 51 lakh rupees.

MP Aujla said that he himself has been a player and knows that victory is achieved only after hard work day and night. MP Aujla said that it is very important to promote sports to stop the flow of drugs in Punjab. That is why when Haryana is giving Rs. 2.5 crores to the players, the players of Punjab should also get Rs. 2.5 crores. He said that these players have emerged as an example for everyone and the youth should take inspiration from them. The coming generation should show interest in sports so that they can bring glory to their loved ones and the country.
