CLTA, CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association has organized CLTA-AITA Championship Series (CS-3) Tennis Tournament for Boy’s & Girl’s under-18 from 11th to 13th January 2021 in its Tennis Stadium, Sector 10, Chandigarh.

Top seed Sarthak Gandhi of CLTA Trainee win Boys under-18 singles title. Sarthak Gandhi defeated Navya Verma in straight sets 6-3, 6-1. In the 1st set both players played high level tennis till 3-3. After 3-3 Sarthak Gandhi played top level tennis and Sarthak took next 3 games in a row to closed the 1st set 6-3. In the 2nd set Sarthak Gandhi maintained his momentum and used his aggressive ground stroke from the baseline, finally Sarthak took the 2nd set and match 6-1 by conceding one game.

In the Girls under-18 singles Finals 5th seed Riya Kaushik upset top seed Harleen Kaur Dhanda in a 3 setter marathon match 6-2, 6-7(2), 6-2. Riya won the 1st set easily 6-2, in the 2nd set Harleen Kaur Dhanda fought back very well and won 2nd set 7-2 in tie break. In the deciding set Riya Kaushik came back strongly, Riya played smart tennis and won final set easily without getting much pressure 6-2.

Mr. Romen Singh, Chief Coach, CLTA distributed the prizes to the winners and runners-up of both the events.
