Sikh students who pass UPSC exam will be honored soon - Advocate Dhami

AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has recently given in-principle approval to the special award of Rs 1 lakh each to Sikh students selected for high administrative services. It is worth mentioning that the announcement of the awarding of Sikh students who passed the examination was made by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee will soon honour these Sikh students.
In a press statement issued from the office, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the SGPC is making great efforts to ensure that Sikh youth come forward for administrative services through competitive examinations. While the SGPC provides annual assistance to Amritdhari students, free education to Amritdhari girls and poor students, it has also arranged for the preparation of Sikh youth for administrative and judicial services through Nishchay Academy. He said that similarly, Rs 5 crore has been reserved in the budget for the preparation of Mains for Gursikh students who have passed the preliminary test of the administrative examination.
Advocate Dhami said that the decision of the Shiromani Committee to honor these Sikh students who passed the UPSC examination is not only to boost their morale, but also to encourage other Sikh youth towards administrative services. In future, a program will also be drawn up by the Shiromani Committee to introduce the students who passed the UPSC examination to the students preparing for competitive examinations at the functioning Nishchaya Academy, so that the students who are preparing can get inspiration. The Shiromani Committee President appealed to the Sikh families to encourage their children to prepare for competitive examinations, so that the Sikh youth sit in high positions and work for the welfare of humanity according to the path shown by Guru Sahib.
