The theory of Miri Piri has always stirred the anti-cult forces - Advocate Dhami

AMRITSAR: The philosophy of the Gurus is very important for shaping the personal life of the Sikhs as well as for the cult leadership, but the anti-cult forces have been making continuous efforts to harm this heritage and principles of the Sikhs. This idea was expressed by Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, while addressing an effective seminar organized by Dharma Prachar Committee at Khalsa College, here today, dedicated to the 450th anniversary of Guru Ramdas and the 450th anniversary of Guru Amardas.

He said that the Gurus gave a unique ideology in the religious history of the world. Advocate Dhami said that today, when the Sikh community is celebrating two important centenaries related to the third and fourth Patshah Ji, it is a national duty that the institutional efforts made by the Gurus to propagate Sikhism should be carried forward in its direction. Talking about the religious and sectarian harmony, the Shiromani Committee president said that today the Sikh doctrine of Miri-Piri is stirring up the opponents. All their emphasis is on distancing Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the Sikh organization Shiromani Committee from each other.

He appealed to the Sangat that where we have to do sectarian vigilance, we also have to fight the forces that divide the society today.

On the occasion of the seminar, Giani Parvinderpal Singh, famous Sikh scholar Dr. Harbhajan Singh Dehradun, Dr. Paramveer Singh Punjabi University Patiala and Dr. Inderjit Singh Gogoani Principal Khalsa College Senior Secondary School expressed important and researched ideas about the life and ideology of Sri Guru Ramdas Ji. Speakers said that from Guru's holy words, all-round instruction for the development of human life is obtained. He shared various aspects of Gurbani as well as emerging ideas about the uniqueness of the city of Sri Amritsar in history. Learned speakers said that for the Sikhs living all over the world, Sri Guru Ramdas Ji's hometown Sri Amritsar is extremely important because the Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib located here beats in the heart of every Sikh. Before this, Khalsa College Principal Dr. Mahal Singh started the seminar by giving a welcome speech.

During the seminar, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Dhami, General Secretary Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta and Dharma Prachar Committee Secretary S. Balwinder Singh Kahlwan honored prominent personalities and speakers.

Apart from this, the children who secured the leading positions in the religious examination conducted by the Dharma Prachar Committee and the Sikh Dharma Study Correspondence Course were also honored with scholarship money.
