Special arrangements to be made for voters at polling booths due to heat wave – Special General Observer

AMRITSAR: Special General Observer Mr Ram Mohan Mishra IAS appointed by the Chief Election Commission for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. (Retd.) General Observer A. Radha Binod Sharma , Expenditure Observer Mr Baare Ganesh Sudhakar , Police Observer Shweta Srimali IPS. , District Election Officer Mr. Ghansham Thori , Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar , SSP Rural Mr. Satinder Singh , District Election Tehsildar Mr. Amarjit Singh besides officials of different departments held a meeting.

Taking stock of the preparations for the elections, Mr. Mishra said that due to the heat wave, there should be adequate provision of drinking water , fans , candles etc. at all the polling booths and wheelchairs should be available especially for disabled voters. He said that no political party symbol , poster , banner etc. should be placed outside the polling booths and the number of male voters, female voters and transgender voters should be written outside each polling station.

He said that there should be strict security arrangements outside the polling booths on the polling day and no one would be allowed to break the peace outside the polling booths. He asked the police officers to give special priority to the security arrangements so that no untoward incident could take place.
