SRI ANANDPUR SAHIB: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee today organized the 'Aape gur chela' nagar kirtan on the eve of birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh here.
The nagar kirtan which was started after the bhog of Akhand path. and it will reach Takht Sri Damdama Sahib on January 16. Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president SGPC, Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal, Dr Daljit Singh Cheema, Karnail Singh Peermohammad, Balwinder Singh Bhunder , Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra and other akali leaders participated in nagar kirtan.
School children with band in uniform, gatka parties, kirtani jathas have also joined the nagar kirtan. The devotees were reciting the gurbani like " waho waho Gobind Singh aape gur chela...."
At the beginning of the Nagar Kirtan, where the Punjab Police team saluted Guru Granth Sahib, school children's band and NCC parties participated and Gatka teams showed their Gatka skills. Meanwhile, the Sangat in the markets of Sri Anandpur Sahib greeted the Nagar Kirtan by showering flowers and bowed down to Guru Sahib. Nagar Kirtan was warmly welcomed by the congregation at different stages on the way.
Addressing the congregation on this occasion, Giani Raghbir Singh Jathedar Akal Takht said that the example of philanthropy done by Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji for the worldly and spiritual welfare of humanity is not found anywhere else in the world.
He said that the decision of the Shiromani Committee to celebrate Dasam Patshah Ji's Prakash Gurpurab at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib at the national level this time is commendable.
Giani Raghbir Singh appealed to the Sangat to fully welcome and participate in the city being laid out on Sri Guru Gobind Singh Marg from Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib to Takht Sri Damdama Sahib.
On this occasion, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami in his address congratulated the Sangat on the birth anniversary of Dasam Patshah Ji and said that Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji created the Khalsa Panth from the holy land of Sri Anandpur Sahib for human equality and religious freedom.
