SGPC inquiry committee held the CM responsible for the incident of firing at the Gurdwara Sahib of Sultanpur Lodhi

AMRITSAR: The investigation committee constituted by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has directly held the Chief Minister of Punjab Mr. Bhagwant Mann responsible for the recent shooting incident and disrespect of norms at Gurdwara Sri Akal Bunga Sahib Sultanpur Lodhi. On the occasion of publicizing the investigation report at the Shiromani Committee office here today, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann, who also has the Home Department, according to the investigation report, is the main culprit in all the cases.
Advocate Dhami said that on November 23, 2023, orders were given to the Shiromani Committee by the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib for a complete report on the incident of Gurudwara Sri Akal Bunga Sahib of Sultanpur Lodhi, according to which the five-member committee has given its report. .
He said that the junior vice president in the investigation committee formed. Gurbakhsh Singh Khalsa, member Surjit Singh Bhittewad, Mr. Kulwant Singh Manhan, Bibi Gurpreet Kaur, s. Jarnail Singh Dogranwala and S. Additional Secretary (Coordinator) Gurinder Singh Mathrewal was present.
During its investigation, this committee has penned the statements of eyewitnesses, heads of Nihang organizations, media personnel, attendants of Gurdwara Sahib and eyewitnesses. It has been revealed from the statements that there was no need to fire at Gurdwara Sahib and no warning was given before firing. The police fired only unilaterally, while there are no signs of any kind of oppression or conflict inside the Gurdwara Sahib. Sri Akhand Path Sahib was going on inside the Gurdwara Sahib, where the ceremony of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was disrupted by firing, tear gas and police entering the Gurdwara Sahib with shoes. There was no attempt to resolve the conflict between the two factions together. According to the target set before Prakash Gurpurab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the police took action. When there was no talk of any kind of conflict within the Guru Ghar, the firing of tear gas and firing of tear gas shells is not justified in any way.
He said that it is clear from the statements received by the investigation committee and the video documents found that the police fired more than a thousand bullets. In this regard, instead of taking action against the accused policemen, leaflets were registered against the Nihang Singhs.
Advocate Dhami said that the investigation report makes it clear that the government officials are working under the pressure of the government. Following this, Deputy Commissioner and SSP Kapurthala did not cooperate in the investigation. These two officials were sent 23 questions in writing by the inquiry committee, but they did not feel the need to answer as per the intention of the government.
He said that since this inquiry committee was formed by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the report has been sent to the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib for action.
He appealed to Jathedar Akal Takht to take appropriate action on this matter.
On this occasion Bhai Manjit Singh Bhurakohna, member of Shiromani Committee. Surjit Singh Bhittewad, Mr. Mangwinder Singh Khaparkheri, Bhai Ajaib Singh Prakhya, Secretary S. Pratap Singh, Additional Secretary Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Deputy Secretary. Jaswinder Singh Jassi, s. Shahbaz Singh, Mr. Harbhajan Singh Wakta, Manager S.
