Sarabjit Singh unanimously elected Chairman of Zila Parishad

AMRITSAR: A meeting of directly elected members of the Zila Parishad along with Chairpersons of various Panchayat Samitis of the district was held today at Bachat Bhawan, Amritsar under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner S. Rupinderpal Singh. During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner General-cum-Presiding Officer conducted the election for the posts of Chairman and Vice-Chairperson of Zila Parishad Amritsar.
In the election, Sarabjit Singh was unanimously elected as Chairman of Zila Parishad Amritsar, while Mrs. Rajwinder Kaur was unanimously elected as Vice-Chairperson of the Zila Parishad.
On this occasion, newly elected Chairman of Zila Parishad Amritsar S. Sarabjit Singh and Vice-Chairperson Mrs. Rajwinder Kaur thanked all the members and said that they would sincerely strive to live up to the trust reposed in them by all members. They jointly stated that their primary objective is the development of villages across the district and to ensure that the welfare schemes being implemented by the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann reach every needy person.
They further said that by taking all members along, they would accelerate the pace of development works in the district.
Present on the occasion were Block Samiti Verka Chairperson Madam Navneet Kaur, Zila Parishad members S. Satnam Singh, S. Manjit Singh, S. Jasbir Singh, S. Baljit Singh, S. Lakhwinder Singh, Madam Priyanka, Mrs. Mandeep Kaur, Mrs. Kamlesh Rani, besides Chairpersons of Panchayat Samitis including S. Karamjit Singh of Harsha Chhina, Madam Bhajan Kaur of Chogawan, Mrs. Mukhwinder Kaur of Attari, S. Yadvinder Singh of Majitha, S. Husnapreet Singh Sialka, S. Harbhajan Singh of Rayya Panchayat Samiti, Mrs. Mavinder Kaur of Ajnala and S. Amrik Singh of Jandiala Panchayat Samiti.
