PHAGWARA: The Shahkot police have booked three travel agents including two women for allegedly duping a woman of Rs 9. Lakhs on the pretext of sending her brother abroad.
PHAGWARA: The Shahkot police have booked three travel agents including two women for allegedly duping a woman of Rs 9. Lakhs on the pretext of sending her brother abroad.
Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Amandeep Singh, said that the accused have been identified as Sukhjinder Singh a resident of Sher Pur village under Bilga police station, his wife Simranjit Kaur, and Parminder Kaur wife of Resham Singh a resident of Sohal Jagir village
Harpreet Kaur wife of Kuldeep Singh a resident of Sohal Jagir village had complained to the police that she had paid Rs 9.00 lakhs to the accused for facilitating her brother’s migration abroad. However, neither did he was sent abroad, nor did he return the money.
DSP said a case under sections 420 (cheating) and 406(breach of trust) of the IPC and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act 2014 had been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
