CBI arrests DGM NBCC accepting Rs.4 lakh bribe

NEW DELHI:  The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a DGM of NBCC, Guwahati for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. Four Lakh from the complainant.
A case was registered UnderSection 7 of Prevention Of Corruption Act 1988 (PC Act)(As amended in 2018) against a CGM, NBCC, Housefed Complex, Guwahati and a DGM, NBCC on a complaint alleging demand of Rs. Fifty Lakh as two percent commission of the contract value (the total contract value was Rs.24,43,90,000/-).
 The DGM, NBCC was also demanding Rs.10 Lakh for the passing of the complainant's bill. CBI laid a trap and caught the DGM, NBCC red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe money of Rs.4 Lakh (2 Lakh for himself and Rs.2 Lakh for CGM) from the complainant.

Searches were conducted at the premises of the DGM, NBCC which led to the recovery of cash amounting to Rs.10.60 Lakh from his residence and incriminating documents.

The arrested accused was produced before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Guwahati and remanded to four days Police Custody. The investigation is continuing.
