Canada based NRI youth arrested at Delhi airport for cheating his wife

CHANDIGARH: The Nurmahal police has arrested a Canada based NRI youth Gurwinder Singh from Indira Gandhi International airport New Delhi on the charges of cheating his wife, living in India.

The accused was nabbed on the basis of look out order issued by Punjab Police. Gurwinder Singh after reaching Canada allegedly demanded Rs.30 lakh from his in laws to apply visa for his wife. He was demanding Rs.30 lakh. When Rs. 30 lakh was not paid he withdrew her flile of Visa.  It is alleged that accused sent divorse papers to his wife.

A case of cheating was registered against Gurwinder on the complaint of his wife. The gamily members of victim girl identified as Deepika has also claimed that Gurwinder has done second marriage in Canada without divorcing first wife. 

It is reported that Deepika has also reached Canada three weeks back and tried to resolve the matter with Gurwinder but he refused to talk to her. According to family members of Deepika, father of Gurwinder who is posted in DSP office is also involved in the cheating. Gurwinder is bookedunder section 420 of IPC besides charges of demanding dowry.
