2 accused arrested for murdering a woman after raping her

KAITHAL: Two persons were arrested by the Civil Line police station here in the case of rape and murder of a woman at night on Udyog Marg, Kaithal. Both the accused were produced in the court on Saturday and taken on police remand for further interrogation by the police.

DSP Umed Singh said that on the morning of 30 January , the body of a woman was recovered from Udyog Marg Kaithal. After identification of the deceased, a case was registered in the Civil Lines police station on the complaint of the deceased's sister Ekta, resident of Jakhauli Adda Kaithal.

According to the complaint, on Monday night her 30-year-old sister was sleeping at home with her five-month-old child. After this she suddenly went missing. In the morning the police informed her that the body of her sister, who lived in the neighbourhood, was found on Udyog Marg. She immediately reached the spot. She alleged that some people visited her sister and expressed apprehension that those had murdered his sister after raping her.

DSP said that considering the seriousness of the case, SP Upasana had given orders to arrest the accused as soon as possible. While investigating the case, the team of SI Vijay Kumar of Police Station Civil Lines took immediate action and arrested the accused Bunty alias Totu, resident of Sajuma village and Sonu, resident of Jakhauli Adda Kaithal. During the interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that the accused were known to the deceased. They were together on the night of 29 January. Both the accused had consumed excessive alcohol. They forcefully raped the deceased. When she protested, both the accused killed her by hitting her head with a brick and fled from the spot. Both the accused were produced in the court on Saturday, and taken on police remand for further interrogation.
