LUDHIANA : All arrangements are in place for Saturday’s Mentorship Camp for Lufthansa’s Fourth ‘Runway to Success’ at city’s Park Plaza which will see India’s top tech giants addressing about 80 young entrepreneurs of the region. These young men and women are from diverse fields like textiles, IT and management.
This prestigious event, the first of its kind in Punjab, is being sponsored by Lufthansa Airlines and jointly organised by the Delhi chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and Ludhiana’s edtech company, TCY.
As already reported, invited to this day-long event are startup mavericks (including aspiring entrepreneurs) desiring to make a name for themselves in their chosen fields. Similar kind of mentorship camps will be held in nine other Indian cities of India. This will be the first time. Its grand finale will be telecast on ET Now, the Economic Times’ elite TV channel.
The five speakers (mentors) who will address these young entrepreneurs during the day-long session are:
Aakriti Bhargava – Co-founder of BoringBrands and Wizkey
Deepak Goel – Founder & CEO of KarmaCircles
Jiwandeep Ghai – Founder of SantaBanta.com
Jagdish Rai Singal – Founder & MD of Eastman Group
Anuj Aggarwal – Chairman & MD of Altruist Technologies
Talking about the objective behind such an event,Kamal Wadhera, the key TiE member from the region and the CEO of TCY, says the event would encourage start-ups in the country by giving a chance to budding entrepreneurs to come on a common platform.
According to the Executive Director of the Delhi-NCR Chapter of TiE, Geetika Dayal, “India is poised to grow and much of this growth would be powered by the persistence, innovation and game-changing business strategies of entrepreneurs.
“TiE, dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship globally, would identify the challenges young entrepreneurs face in taking their business to the next level and provide advice through its network of marquee entrepreneurs and investors. The Guru-Shishya tradition on which the TiE mentoring programme is based makes an entrepreneur’s journey more exciting and rewarding”, she adds.
It may be recalled that the finale event of third edition of ‘Runway to Success’ in 2015 was the battle of the toughest on India’s largest SME stage. Having sailed past a whopping 27,000 contestants over four gruelling rounds, Mandeep Manocha of ReGlobe emerged victorious. As Grand Prize winner, Mandeep received a seat at Stanford University’s prestigious Design Thinking Boot Camp, Lufthansa Business Class ticket to the US and coveted TiE mentorship. The winners would get the same this year too.
