Workshop on sports specific rehabilitation organized at Guru Nanak Dev University
AMRITSAR: “REBOUND” a one-day workshop focusing on sports specific rehabilitation in association with Abhinav Bindra Foundation, Amandeep Hospitals and Sironix was held at the MYAS – GNDU Department of Sports Sciences and Medicine of Guru Nanak Dev University. The workshop was attended by more than 85 students and faculty members from the department. The speakers of the workshop spoke about the diagnosis and rehabilitation of various sports injuries using the latest available techniques.

Dr. Amrinder Singh, Head of Department inaugurated the workshop and welcomed the speakers. He also thanked Ms. Bhagyashree from Sironix for organizing this workshop. The workshop featured the talks by various experts. Dr. Inderdeep Singh, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Amandeep Hospital emphasized on the importance of the clinical examination and the imaging of knee and shoulder injuries in sports persons for successful rehabilitation of injuries. Mr. Shahnawaz Gazi, Chief Physiotherapist at J&K Football Association, Srinagar focused on rehabilitation of ACL injuries in athletes.
The usage of technology in rehabilitation and prevention of injuries was dealt by Ms. Deeksha Mehta, Physiotherapist at Abhinav Bindra Targeting Performance centre, Mohali. The workshop concluded with the valedictory address by Prof. Shweta Shenoy, Dean Faculty.
