Amritsar resident arrested for rape, conspiracy
PHAGWARA: The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a youth on the charge of rape and criminal conspiracy. Investigating officer (IO) Janak Raj said the accused has been identified as Prince Singh, a resident of Sultanwind Road Amritsar.

The victim had complained to the police that the accused contacted her on social media in 2022 and promised to marry her and forcibly raped her repeatedly and she became pregnant.
The complainant said that after this, the accused refused to marry her on the advice of his Auntie (Father’s sister – Bhua) and threatened her with dire consequences.
IO said a case under section 69(sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means, etc. ), 61(2)(criminal conspiracy), and 351 (2)(criminal intimidation) of the BNS was registered against the accused, and the relative was arrested earlier.
