CHANDIGARH: Taking cognizance of Vigilance Department letter of dated 12.1.2016 stating that it has been observed that despite follow ups with the listed departments, the departments concerned were failed to furnish the information/report with regard to rotation of officialsworking on sensitive posts beyond three years, the assistant estate office has transferred 23 employees those have completed more than three years on sensitive seats vide order No 3312/E-497(2026) dated June 3, 2026.
It is stated that corruption, delaying files and dilly-dally attitude of the senior officials in working have plagued the estate office that has started acting to curb these malpractices for the past few months. The authority had even suspended a few employees a couple of months back, terming it had to lose financially due to their lack of working style. The employees were suspended for their alleged failure to discharge official responsibilities and causing a financial loss. But a few in the department talked about some employees still stick to sensitive seats though they have completed the limit of three years.
Although many employees of the estate office have been continue to transferred nearly two months back and many are still in the line to be shifted. Sources said some employees was dismissed but subsequently reinstated and given a key posting. Similarly an employee was charge sheeted more than twice and told by the senior officers to avoid publi8c dealing but still he was given a key posting. Now it will be interesting to see whether the estate office initiative to weed out such employees will keep serving on such sensitive posts or not.
