One week Road Safety awareness workshop Concluded at CGC Jhanjeri

MOHALI: Chandigarh Group Of Colleges Jhanjeri campus’s NSS wing, under the Department of Student Welfare organised One Week road safety training and awareness program with a view to ensure safe driving for minimizing road accidents.

Under the program, students were educated about the road safety rules . Different experts updated them with the current global scenario of road accidents in this workshop. The students were informed about safety norms, traffic lights, traffic signs and signals, colour coding and the importance of following speed limits and maintaining safe distance while on road.

The NSS volunteers, along with representatives from Mjaat Police Chowki, distributed first aid medical kits to car drivers at strategic locations near the campus. These kits included basic medical supplies such as bandages, antiseptic wipes, pain relievers, and other essential items that can prove crucial in handling minor injuries or emergencies on the road.

Speaking about the initiative, M D Arsh Dhaliwal emphasized the importance of road safety awareness and preparedness among drivers. Arsh Dhaliwal stated that Our aim is not only to promote road safety but also to empower drivers with the necessary tools to respond effectively in case of emergencies. By distributing these medical kits, we hope to contribute towards safer road practices and reduce the impact of accidents.

Speaking on occasion, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that accidents are caused due to carelessness. He advised the students to remain cool and calm while driving. He said that over speeding, jumping red light and suddenly changing lane for overtaking other vehicles proves highly risky and dangerous. He advised that if we avoid such irresponsible actions, life is more precious than a 2 minutes delay.
