Releases list of 15 institutes fulfilling norms
CHANDIGARH: In a bid to save the students from exploitation at the hands of the unrecognised institutes, the Punjab State Council for Agricultural Education (PSCAE)— body to regulate agriculture education— has cautioned the students from taking admission in the institutes which are not fulfilling norms prescribed by the council.

Releasing a list of 15 institutes, which are fulfilling the minimum standards prescribed by the council regarding B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, the PSCAE, headed by Special Chief Secretary (Agriculture) Mr. KAP Sinha, said that the students should avoid taking admission in those agricultural institutes, which are not recognised by the council, as on the account of failure to comply with provisions of PSCAE Act. The degrees/diplomas/certificates issued by such institutions without approval by PSCAE will be rendered as invalid for admission into the higher educational institutes and eligibility for Government services in the State of Punjab.

Notably, the Punjab State Council for Agricultural Education Act, 2017 was notified on January 2, 2018 and all institutes offering courses related to agriculture education were to submit a status report with regard to affiliation, admission, curricula, staff etc. to the council within 30 days and a compliance report within six months, so as to seek approval of council within two years from the date of commencement of this Act.

In a public notice, the council also advised the students desirous to pursue degree, diploma and certificate courses in agricultural education should check the list of institutes which are fulfilling the minimum standards prescribed by the council, from time to time on the website www.agri.punjab.gov.in
