NCC Punjab Battalion 24 and Women Cell of the college organized a seminar and poster making competition

AMRITSAR: NCC wing of Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology (KCET), Ranjit Avenue in association with NCC Punjab Battalion 24 and Women Cell of the college organized a seminar and poster making competition on the occassion of National Women's Day.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by the Director Dr. Manju Bala. She welcomed the gusts of the day Naib subedar Jaswant Singh and S. Kulwinder Singh. Dr. Bala in her speech, highlighted the pivotal role of women in nation-building and the significance of women empowerment in today's society. Emphasizing the need for gender equality and opportunities for women in various sectors, she underscored the importance of celebrating women's achievements and contributions.

She said that Empowering women isn't just about providing them with opportunities; it's about dismantling the systemic barriers that hinder their progress. It's about ensuring equal access to education, healthcare, employment, and leadership roles. It's about challenging stereotypes, biases, and discriminatory practices that perpetuate gender inequality. Women empowerment is not just a buzzword; it's a fundamental necessity for building a more equitable and inclusive society. She asked students to pledge to create an environment where every woman and girl can thrive, fulfill her potential, and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

Then, Dr. Shruti Khanna, Associate Professor delivered an enlightening speech on the topic of women empowerment. She eloquently discussed the challenges faced by women in achieving equality and the need for concerted efforts towards empowerment. Dr. Khanna provided insightful perspectives on strategies to empower women in education, employment, and leadership roles. Her speech inspired the audience to take proactive steps towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society. She emphasized the need for a holistic approach towards women empowerment, encompassing economic, social, and political aspects. She highlighted the importance of education and skill development in enabling women to break free from the shackles of poverty and dependence. Furthermore, Dr. Khanaa stressed the significance of creating a conducive environment that fosters gender equality and provides women with equal opportunities to succeed.

After that NCC Cadets of the college had a poster making event to raise the awareness awareness on the importance of women's empowerment in driving societal progress. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Honorary Secretary, KCCS lauded the fforts of Director and her team for this event and said that such events elighten students so that they can help to create quitable society.
