AMRITSAR: The Engineers' Week Celebration 2024 was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Guru Nanak Dev University. The students of B. Tech. (Mech. Engg.) and M. Tech. (AI and Robotics Engg. - Five Year Integrated Programme) enthusiastically showcased their technical skills, creativity and talent in a range of competitions including AI and Robotics based project making and 3D printing during this programme.
A key highlight of this Engineer's week celebration was an Expert Talk by Dr. Kuldeep Singh, focusing on the Recent Trends in AI and Robotics. The talk offered valuable insights into emerging technologies, the future of automation and the potential impact of AI and robotics on various engineering disciplines. The students had the opportunity to engage in discussions and explore the cutting-edge advancements reshaping the engineering landscape. Er. Pahulpreet Singh, Cultural coordinator said that this event was organized under the esteemed guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu and Dr. Harminder Singh, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The event kicked off with a vibrant opening as students engaged for top positions in various competitions, including extempore, photography, PPT presentation, best out of waste and talent hunt. Each event was designed to encourage participants to think creatively and demonstrate their skills. Dr. Harminder Singh, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, conveyed his best wishes to the participants and encouraged them to maximize the opportunities presented during this event.
In the closing ceremony, the event also crowned Mr. Fresh Engineer and Ms. Fresh Engineer chosen from the first-year students who showcased their personality, talent and communication skills. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where winners of all events were awarded certificates of appreciation and trophies for their outstanding performances.
